Located just 6 miles from downtown, the airport Cristoforo Colombo is now considered an  an important international airport.

Managed since 1985 by Aeroporto di Genova SpA, the airport can handle 1,500 passengers per hour and serve a wide range of national and international locations, as well as welcome the most modern aircraft on its 3,065 m. runway.

The passenger terminal, for which a short-floor expansion of the terminal has been envisaged, currently consists of three levels on which the arrivals are distributed on the ground floor; whereas departures with ticketing, check-in desks and VIP lounge on the first floor, the airline offices and administrative offices on the third.

The other facilities include two lounges dedicated to cruise passengers operated by Costa Cruises and MSC, 4 bars and a self-service one, car rental agencies, the information office, the  car park payment station, a bank, Giglio Bagnara, Navy, Itineris shops and the Duty Free.
At the departures there is a Fly Safe Bag fee point, where cases can be wrapped before being delivered to the check-in.

The airport offers its passengers three parking areas with different rates.

In front of the airport there are the central car park with 700 parking spaces and the short-term staying (75 seats) offering those accompanying the passengers the first half hour free. Recently  a remote parking area (145 places) has been set up which enables passengers to stop for longer periods at cheaper prices.

Connections between the terminal and downtown are guaranteed by the Volabus 100 " shuttle service and a radio taxi.

To the west of the airport  a cargo terminal is located, made up of a warehouse of 2,658 sqm. (Ground floor) for domestic and foreign goods, and a building of 2,000 square meters. Intended for  the offices of Aeroporto di Genova SpA, as well as to customs and agencies.
